Frankfurt – city of skyscrapers


A few weeks ago I was in Frankfurt – and instead of just going through the airport that many of us know so well at this stage – I stayed in the city and had the opportunity to explore downtown.   I was told by several locals that Frankfurt, unlike all other German cities, had no restriction on the height of buildings, so expect to see tall buildings.  Much of the architecture of downtown was sleek, contemporary and is still booming, it seemed to me.  This first example is designed by the German architect, but Chicago adopted Helmut Jahn.
