  1. Hello Cliff, how are you? Recently I discovered this 50 year old image of our first choices on leaving Quarry Bank in 1970. I’ve been putting these images on Facebook within the Quarry/Calder group. It raised some interest, but by now hardly any names are remembered, indeed most of us would not recognise each other face to face, being in our 70s, rather than in our late teens.Your name has no destination, but I think you said you went on to under and postgraduate biology. Hope it stirs some pleasant memories.Best wishes, Charles Bristow

    • Hi Charles, Thanks for the comments. Unfortunately, I do not see the image you are talking about. Perhaps you just put it on Facebook? Can you let me know what the Quarry Calder group is called on FB, so i can join and see some of those images you mention? After leaving Quarry, I went onto University in Manchester and stayed there for 8 years as I did an undergrad degree in Pharmacy and then a PhD. I immediately then went to Boston in the US for a Post doc and met my future wife there. After 2 years in Boston we both went to Belgium for 18 months where I started working for a US owned medical Device company and then I transferred to Chicago where I have been ever since, with a few years in-between in Seattle. I confess that I did not keep in touch with any of our classmates – I don’t think the concept of reunions ever caught on in the UK? Which is so different from he US where people often have lifelong friendships as high School reunions are commonplace. I can, however, recall most of the faces (and some names) from our class inQB. Strange to imagine the lives of all those boys – I wonder how many are still with us and in good health? Cheers, Cliff (AKA CJ Holmes, as there was also JR Holmes in the same class, remember?)
