My watercolor class took a different turn the last few weeks – pushing us to take a collection of tin cans to a form of abstract. Not easy to do and not completely successful, but it was a great learning exercise.
Eighteen years ago, we were on Safari and met Liz – we have stayed friends since and she recently asked me to paint something from our trip in 1999. I had a picture of two lion cubs just relaxing in the African morning – this is the rendition.
Maybe one of the more challenging exercises to date in my intermediate level class.
This was captured during a visit to Copenhagen last summer. I like to think these two fellows are ruminating about the, then, pending closure of this famous place.
